Overview

The Overview adds up the posts of the accounts you pick, for the period you choose. Every figure is compared with the same number of days right before that period.

It has three tabs. Overview has the figures and the chart. Hooks shows how your posts open, and Patterns shows when and how they do best. All three read the same accounts and period. Hooks and Patterns covers the other two tabs.

Choose the accounts

Accounts in your Overview, in the filter bar, sets which groups and accounts add up. Pick whole groups, single accounts or All accounts, and search them by name.

  • Your choice is saved for you in this project. Every member keeps their own.
  • Until you choose, the Overview reads the groups that have at least one account in tracking.
  • A paused account keeps its data. It still adds up when it's in your selection.
  • Posts uses the same selection. Radar has its own filter, and Intelligence always reads every account in tracking.

Choose the period

The period filter offers Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, This month, Last month, Last 6 months, This year and Everything imported. Pick dates sets any range. The Overview opens on the last 30 days.

The line above the cards names the dates of the previous period, and every arrow compares with it. When an account's imported history doesn't reach that far back, a note under the cards names the account.

Everything imported covers the history OrganicDeck saved for each account, not every post the account ever published.

Recent posts are still gaining views, so the current period tends to look lower than the one before.

The figures

  • Views. Once the whole period has been measured, the views gained in it by posts from any date. Until then, the views of the posts published in the period, as of their latest measurement. With Everything imported, the views of every imported post.
  • Posts. How many were published in the period. Its tooltip shows how many per week and on how many days there were posts.
  • Median views. The views of the post in the middle. One viral post doesn't move it the way it moves the average, which the tooltip also shows.
  • Engagement per view. (Likes + comments + shares + saves) / views, with the counts each platform publishes. A post without measured likes or comments has no engagement.
  • Hit rate · 2× and Viral · 10×. The share of posts that reached twice, or ten times, their account's median views. An account needs 5 measured posts to be counted.
  • Save rate and Share. Saves / views and shares / views.
  • Followers gained. How many followers the accounts gained in the period, from their profile measurements.

Hover over a card to see how it's calculated and its value in the previous period. Click it to show its figure in the chart.

When some posts are out of your metrics, a note under the cards says how many. Its link opens them in Posts.

The chart

The chart shows the figure of the card you picked, by day, week or month, depending on how long the period is.

  • Daily, Weekly or Monthly shows each column on its own. Cumulative adds them up. Medians and rates can't be added up, so they're only shown per period.
  • Compare with… draws a second figure as a line over the first. No comparison removes it.

Views gained start on the day your posts were first measured. OrganicDeck has no data from before the first measurement, so the chart doesn't show growth before it.

Top posts and accounts

Top posts lists the most viewed posts of the period. Total ranks them by their views as of their latest measurement. Gained ranks posts from any date by the views they gained in the period. Click a post to open its detail.

Account comparison puts each account in a row with its posts, views, median, hit rate, save rate, views gained and followers.

  • Click a column heading to sort.
  • Click an account to see only its data. The filter bar then reads Only @account, and its X takes you back to your selection.
  • Check 2 to 4 accounts to see them in Accounts side by side, with the same period and scale for each one.

Export and share

  • Export saves the Overview as an Image (PNG), or its numbers as Data (CSV): the summary, the figures by period and the accounts.
  • Share report makes a public link to this Overview for someone outside your project.
  • Copy link, in the filter bar, copies a link for someone in your project, with the same accounts and period.

Share links and reports explains both kinds of link.
