Images and Pinterest boards
OrganicDeck doesn't make images. The photos of a slideshow come from Pinterest boards your team curates and from images you upload. Screenshots and logos of your product live apart, in Your product, and go over a slide.
The Images page
In Slideshows, Images at the top of the list opens the project's images. Your product is always the first row, followed by each board with its first images, how many it has, how many slideshows use it and when it was last brought from Pinterest. Click a row to see all its images.
Add a Pinterest board
- Press Add a Pinterest board… on the Images page, in the new slideshow form or in a draft's image bar.
- Paste the board's link, like pinterest.com/user/board, and press Add.
- The board says Importing… for a moment, then shows its images.
- Update from Pinterest, in the board's menu, brings the images saved to it since.
- Open in Pinterest opens the board on Pinterest.
- Remove board takes it out of the project. Slideshows that used it keep their images.
Anyone in the project can add, update and remove boards. OrganicDeck keeps the links to a board's images, not the images.
Images in a slideshow
Choose one or more boards in the new slideshow form or in the draft's image bar. Until you choose, a new slideshow takes the boards of the last slideshow for the same account, or the last one in the project.
- When the slideshow is written, each slide gets an image at random, without repeats. Images the same account used in the last 30 days go last.
- With several boards, they take turns, so a small board shows up as often as a big one.
- Shuffle deals the images again.
- Adding a board doesn't change the images already on the slides. Its images join Shuffle and the picker. Removing a board replaces only its own images.
- Click a slide's image to open a grid and pick another. The list above the grid has every board in the project. Random picks one from the board shown, and Remove takes it off the slide.
- The + on a slide adds a second image when the design puts images in a box. On a slide with a background photo, it adds an image on top, from Your product.
All of this is free.
Upload or paste your own
Above each grid there's a field that says Paste an image or a link, with Choose a file beside it. You can:
- Paste an image you copied, for example with Pinterest's "Copy image".
- Paste or type a link to an image, or to a page that shows one like a pin, and press Enter.
- Drop files onto the grid.
- On the Images page, press Add images to upload to Uploads.
What you upload goes to the board you're looking at, or to Uploads if the slideshow has no board. Uploads stay when a board is updated from Pinterest. When you remove an upload from its board, OrganicDeck deletes it once no slideshow uses it.
Uploaded images have an unlisted link so design tools can load them. Anyone with that link can open the image.
Your product
Your product holds your app's screenshots, your logo and any other image you want over a slide, apart from the boards.
- Its images never become a background. Shuffle and Random never take them.
- In the editor, Image opens Your product first. What you upload, paste with ⌘V or drop on a slide lands on that slide as an image you can move and resize. See Design editor and templates.
- On a slide with a background photo, the + opens Your product and places the image on top.
- You remove its images one by one.
Rights to images
You're responsible for having the rights to the images you post, whether they come from Pinterest or from your uploads. OrganicDeck helps you pick them and doesn't check who owns them. See the Terms of Service.
