How OrganicDeck reads posts

Besides measuring views, OrganicDeck reads the posts it measures: the text of every slide, and what a video shows and says. Intelligence, Radar, Hooks and Slideshows all work from those reads.

Reads happen on their own as your accounts are measured. You don't have to ask for them.

What a read is

  • Slideshows. Every slide, with its text as it appears. Instagram carousels count as slideshows.
  • Videos. The text on screen and the speech, with their times. A video is read up to 3:00.
  • Single photos and text posts aren't read.

A slideshow takes one read. A video takes one read per started minute, up to 3. A 40-second video takes 1 read and a 2:10 video takes 3.

Videos are read on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Videos on Facebook, X and Snapchat aren't read yet.

Which posts are read, and in what order

OrganicDeck reads the posts in tracking of every account in tracking: the newest posts of each account, as many as it keeps per account. Posts of paused accounts aren't read.

  1. First, the posts at 2× their account's usual or more.
  2. Then the rest, from newest to oldest.

The first reads come in the same day you add your accounts, so Intelligence can answer before every post is read. After that, new posts are read once a measurement finds them.

A post older than its account's posts in tracking isn't read, and its detail says so. To have it read, keep more posts per account in Settings → Measurements, or on the account itself. See Accounts.

Where you see a read

  • What it says, in the post detail: how the post opens, the product it names, whether it has a CTA, its hook word for word, and the text of each slide or of the video.
  • Why it took off, in the post detail and on Radar.
  • Hooks, the Overview tab that groups posts by how they open. See Hooks and Patterns.
  • Intelligence, which quotes reads in its answers.
  • Slideshows, which writes in the format of a post it read.

Until a post is read, its detail says Queued for reading. or Reading this post…. While reads are going, the sidebar shows Reading posts with how far they got.

Why it took off

For each read post at 2× its account's usual or more, OrganicDeck writes one or two sentences on what that post did differently from the account's usual posts: the topic, what the hook promises or how it's worded, the angle, the slides.

An explanation only uses figures that are in the post. If it has a number the post doesn't, it's thrown out.

When the post does what its account usually does, the detail says so in a note, and Radar shows no explanation for it.

Explanations are written in English and Spanish and show in the language you use OrganicDeck in. They don't use your plan's reads.

When reads run out

Your plan includes reads for each month, shown in Settings → Plan as Intelligence reads this month. They renew on the 1st. During the free trial, reads come from the trial's own allowance.

When the month's reads run out, the posts still waiting are read when they renew, and their detail says on which day. An Intelligence reads top-up covers the wait. It's used once the month's reads are gone, and it doesn't expire. See Plans and billing.
